Information and joining instructions …

Please ensure Booking Form has been submitted before your arrival and any outstanding balances have been settled. We are unable to accept you on the School Yacht unless this procedure has been followed.

On arrival please take a taxi for the short distance to the FRESH CAFÉ on the port where you will be met and introduced to your Instructor. Embarkation will be at approx. 5.00 pm on day of arrival.

Please advise of your Flight No/Arrival time in Skiathos and UK Departure Airport. If there are any flight delays please notify us by calling or text to – 0030 6947 310328

RYA Courses normally commence 9.00 am SATURDAY morning and last 5 days.

Light breakfasts and lunches are provided from Saturday morning until Wednesday lunchtime – all evening meals are taken ashore at own cost.

Outside of Course days ALL meals are taken ashore at own cost.

Accommodation on the School Yacht is for 7 nights FREE at the discretion of Sapphire Yachting Sailing School. You will be requested to sign a simple declaration that you have received a Safety Briefing indicating that you are responsible for your own safety during Non-Course days on the yacht. If accommodation ashore is preferred prior to and at the end of Course, this will be at own cost/arrangement.

You will be required to vacate the School yacht on Thursday between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm for general servicing and maintenance purposes.

Included on the School Yacht - All bed linen; pillows; hand towels; wet weather gear; galley utensils, etc.

Suggested items to bring with you are:

- toiletries

- beach towels

- sunhat

- sunglasses & sunscreen

- shoes which can be worn in the water

- shorts, t-shirts and swimwear

- casual evening wear

- soft comfortable deck shoes with light-coloured soles

- a warm jumper for night sailing

- sailing gloves

- 12v charging lead for mobile telephone (car charger)

- for Courses during May and October warmer clothing is advisable

Personal belongings should be covered by your individual personal/travel Insurance. Sapphire Yachting Sailing School do not accept any responsibility for loss/damage to personal belongings whilst on board the School Yacht.

NO SUITCASES PLEASE – SOFT BAGS SHOULD BE USED FOR EASY STORAGE ON BOARD.

Sapphire Yachting Sailing School contact details in Greece should be given to Next of Kin in the event of them needing to contact you whilst on the Course (Tel: 0030 6947 310328)

Sapphire Yachting Sailing School reserves the right to make any alterations to the Itinerary at any time.

PLEASE NOTE: RYA Sail Cruising syllabus and Log Books are provided by the School. It is recommended that you purchase from the RYA the notes relevant for your particular Course i.e. Competent Crew (Code No. CCPCN); Day Skipper (Code No. DSPCN). Course notes may not always be available to purchase from Sapphire Yachting Sailing School locally.
